This electric ball valve is a type of valve that uses an electric motor to control the opening and closing of the valve. This Failsafe actuator only has 2 wires with Built-in Capacitor Energy Storage. So when the power fails or is switched OFF the actuator motor circuit will use the stored energy to return the valve to the safe position(In this case CLOSED).It is thus essential that the valve is energized (ON or Open) for at least a minute per cycle to allow the capacitors to charge for the closing cycle when power is removed. When you have a failure it is easy to loosen the actuator ring-nut and turn the ball valve shaft with a plier to desired position.(It is also the way to easily replace the actuator if needed) These Valves are known for their simple wiring and operation, reliability, long service life and wide range of applications.

THIS DESCRIPTION ABOVE WAS FOR THE FAILSAFE "CLOSE" TYPE. THE FAILSAFE "OPEN" TYPE WILL WORK OPPOSITE AND OPEN WHEN POWER FAILS.(CHARGES WHEN CLOSED FOR AT LEASE A MINUTE)
