Solenoid valves are electromechanically operated valves that regulate the flow of liquids. When a solenoid valve is not powered, the plunger is in a lowered position, which seals the valve and prevents liquid flow. Once the solenoid valve is powered or energized, the magnetic field causes the plunger to ascend.
